Fireplace
Safety Checklist:
Is
My Fireplace Safe?
Start the season with a fireplace inspection and a clean chimney.
Open damper to let the smoke escape.
Never burn anything other than wood in your fireplace.
Don't leave fireplace unattended while burning.
Have a tool set, fireproof glove and a covered ash bucket ready for
use.
Use a heavy duty grate while stacking wood so it doesn't roll into the
fireplace.
Keep top of wood pile covered.
- damp wood is harder to light, creates more smoke and dirties your
chimney faster.
Never use gas or other flammable materials to keep a fire going.
Install new batteries in carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.
Smoke
Problems?
Installation of an Exhausto Fan - pulls
the smoke upwards. This is the superior solution for a fireplace having
